A portable spa is not normally made smaller by splitting its shell or frame. Before removing anything, distinguish an ordinary accessory from a part that supports, seals, protects or powers the tub.
The answer comes from the model's instructions and the handler's assessment. A part that is removable for service is not automatically something an owner should detach for a move.
List the items around the tub first
Record the cover, cover-lifting mechanism, steps, handrails, headrests and any surrounding deck or trim. Some are separate objects. Others may be attached to the cabinet or installed around the spa.
Photograph how they are fitted and identify which items you expect to transport. Do not assume the spa-moving price includes dismantling and rebuilding a deck surround or fence.
Ask what the manufacturer permits
Use the matching manual and dealer advice for removable components. Hot Spring's owner-resource page directs owners to a dealer when the correct manual is uncertain.[3] Bullfrog's Calm instructions provide specific panel and accessory information that should not be treated as a method for another model.[12]
If a fitting changes the access dimensions, ask the mover whether removing it would solve the actual route problem. You can otherwise create work without improving the clearance.
Keep the shell and support structure intact
- Do not cut a shell or frame to fit an opening.
- Do not remove structural parts based on their appearance.
- Do not expose internal equipment unnecessarily for transport.
- Do not undo plumbing or wiring as a generic packing task.
- Do not use an exposed component as a convenient lifting or restraint point.

Arrange trade work separately
Hardwired disconnection belongs with the appropriate electrician or spa service representative.[1] A damaged fitting, leak or internal repair belongs in a technician's assessment rather than being folded into owner preparation.
Identify who performs any agreed removal and who refits the item at the destination. Manufacturer terms may distinguish an authorized repair from damage caused during alteration or moving.[12]
Organize the permitted accessories
Once removal is agreed, keep each item identified and protect its fixings. Photograph before and after removal and retain instructions for refitting. Store accessories separately where needed so they cannot damage the shell during transport.
