A backyard renovation can require moving a spa out of the work area and returning it later. Treat those as separate handling stages. The route that works before demolition may not exist when materials, equipment or new landscaping arrive.
Agree on the sequence with the renovation contractor before setting a spa pickup date. Include both temporary storage and the conditions that must be met before the tub returns.
Survey access before the site changes
Photograph the existing route and identify what the project will remove, block or rebuild. Note gates, fence sections, steps, planting and the vehicle approach. Tell the mover when heavy equipment or material deliveries will occupy the driveway.
Ask whether the return route will have different dimensions or surfaces. A newly narrowed side yard or changed patio level can alter the move even when the same spa is coming back.
Choose a real temporary location
If the tub will remain on the property, have the provider assess the temporary location and its support. Keep it out of vehicle paths, excavation zones and places where construction runoff can collect.

Separate pad completion from pad readiness
A concrete pour or finished deck is not automatically ready for a spa. Ask the responsible installer when it can accept the model's filled load and whether the foundation and any structural review meet the manufacturer's requirements. Do not apply a generic curing time to every project.

Keep trades in a workable order
- Arrange shutdown and hardwired disconnection before transport.
- Clear the tub before work that would remove its safe access route.
- Complete and approve the new foundation before return placement.
- Leave the equipment-panel side accessible when surrounding finishes are installed.
- Schedule electrical connection and startup after the spa reaches its final position.
Do not let a new deck surround seal off service panels. Manufacturer guidance explicitly identifies that access requirement.[12]
Reconfirm the return move
When the contractor reports that the site is ready, send updated route information to the mover. Confirm the final orientation, access arrangements and any changes in scope before the return appointment.
