MOVING GUIDES

Hot tub relocation timeline: book trades in the right order

Put the trades and decisions for a spa relocation in a workable order, including access assessment, shutdown, pad readiness, transport and commissioning.

A spa relocation schedule should follow the dependencies in the job. Pickup depends on shutdown and access. Delivery depends on a ready destination. Use depends on the installation and startup checks.

Agree the order before filling a calendar with appointments. There is no universal number of days that makes every foundation, permit or contractor arrangement ready.

Resolve the route before confirming transport

Collect the model and dimensions, survey both access routes and identify permissions or specialist assessments. Ask the mover what still needs confirmation before the booking is firm.

If a fence section, crane assessment or temporary storage is involved, assign it to a named person rather than leaving it as a note on the appointment.

Work backward from destination readiness

Ask the foundation installer when the site can accept the model's operating load. Confirm access to the equipment side, cover clearance and any structural or local approval needed.

Bullfrog's foundation instructions distinguish support for the filled spa and occupants from ordinary placement and call for appropriate advice on elevated structures.[12] Do not use a transport date as proof that this work is complete.

Arrange shutdown before pickup

Book the appropriate electrician or spa service representative for a hardwired disconnection.[1] Agree who drains the spa, handles permitted accessory removal and confirms cold-weather preparation when needed.

Account for preparation time and approved water disposal. A still-connected or partially prepared spa can prevent the handling crew from starting the agreed work.

Plan what happens if one stage slips

Discuss rescheduling, additional handling, storage and access changes before they occur. Check the actual agreement's terms rather than assuming delays are free or that the tub can stay indefinitely on a vehicle.

If the disconnected period becomes longer or colder than planned, ask whether the spa's residual-water preparation needs to change. Shell draining alone may leave water in internal components.[2]

Leave time for arrival checks and restart

Keep the first-fill inspection and commissioning separate from unloading. Have the owner manual and condition record available, then use the first-week checks to record how the spa behaves.

The communication guide covers changes after booking. When you describe the proposed move, include the site's real readiness and any related renovation dates so the discussion is based on the whole sequence.
