MOVING GUIDES

Comparing hot tub brands and models for a move

Compare spa models for relocation using dimensions, dry weight, attachments, handling guidance and destination fit instead of assuming a brand is easy to move.

No brand name by itself tells you which hot tub will be easiest to move. The model, condition, access and permitted handling method matter more than a reputation for being compact or lightweight.

Compare the tubs using the information a provider can assess. A small spa in a restricted yard can be more difficult to relocate than a larger one with open access.

Compare dimensions and dry weight

Find the exact model specification and record length, width, height and dry weight where available. Distinguish those from operating weight or a brochure's nominal seat count.

Keep attachments in the measurements. A cover lifter or projecting fitting can affect clearance even when the main cabinet dimensions are similar.

Check handling guidance for the model

Ask the dealer or read the appropriate manual for permitted transport orientations and support. Do not assume the visible cabinet is a lifting point or that a method used for another brand applies.

Bullfrog's Calm delivery instructions discuss horizontal or vertical handling depending on access and direct owners to the matching setup dimensions.[12] Hot Spring's moving guidance also makes model and route preparation central to the job.[1]

Separate product information from route difficulty

  • Does the agreed transport envelope fit the narrowest opening?
  • Is there turning room before and after the gate?
  • Can the planned equipment cross the surfaces and level changes?
  • Is there vehicle access at both properties?
  • Does the destination keep service panels and cover movement clear?

Use the measurement guide and route survey to make those comparisons concrete.

Consider the particular tub's condition

A damaged base, deteriorated cabinet or existing shell crack can change the assessment. A new unit and an older unit of the same model should not automatically be treated as equivalent handling jobs.

If you are buying used, keep any operating records and disclose known faults. The used-tub moving guide covers the questions to settle before arranging pickup.

Use real manufacturer references

The Brands We Move directory links to model-related planning information and official resources. Use those references to find the correct documents, not to rank manufacturers by a made-up move-difficulty score.

If the manual is uncertain, ask the dealer to identify it. Hot Spring's manual-resource page explicitly offers that help.[3] Do not substitute a current model's specification for an older spa solely because the names are similar.

Describe the model rather than choosing a promise

Include the brand, model if known, dimensions and access in your moving inquiry. Mention unavailable specifications or unusual attachments. The provider can then assess the actual unit and route instead of quoting from the brand name alone.
