Arrange a used hot tub move before treating the purchase as a finished deal. The seller's yard, the spa's condition and your destination can each affect whether the unit is practical to collect and install.
Identify what is being sold
Get the model, year where known, serial information and the list of included accessories. Ask about leaks, fault messages, repairs and the last normal operating condition.
Do not accept a claim that a disconnected tub works perfectly without understanding how that condition was established. If a fault or long period out of service matters to the decision, get an appropriate technician's assessment.
Check pickup access with the seller
Survey the route to the vehicle position, including gates, turns, surfaces and steps. Identify who can permit barrier work and whether pickup access changes after a property handover or construction work.
Use the route-mapping guide and tell the mover about known damage before equipment is selected.
Check your destination before agreeing the collection
- Can the model pass the new route?
- Is the foundation suitable for the operating load?
- Will the equipment side and cover remain accessible?
- What electrical installation or local approval is needed?
- Will a gap before startup require storage or cold-weather preparation?
The Calm manual illustrates why filled load, service access and electrical requirements are separate installation decisions.[12] Match them to the actual used model.
Record responsibilities with the seller
Agree who arranges permitted draining, hardwired disconnection, accessory removal and transport. Hot Spring identifies specialist work for directly wired spas.[1]
Record the collection timing, included items and the condition information. A casual arrangement to collect whenever you like can become difficult if access or another contractor is unavailable.
Check warranty and repair assumptions
Read the applicable product terms before promising or expecting transferred cover. The Calm warranty states that its limited warranty terminates on transfer of ownership.[12] Other products have their own terms.
Compare the purchase, necessary repairs, transport and new-site costs together. Use the move-versus-replace worksheet rather than judging the bargain only by the asking price.
Keep the startup record
Retain the manual, model details, condition photographs and preparation notes. Follow the correct filling and commissioning process at the new property and record any fault with its timing.
Use the arrival checklist and first-week checks. Include the seller's access and the destination details in the moving inquiry before finalizing the collection plan.
