A difficult spa move needs an equipment assessment tied to the actual route. Start by explaining why ordinary access is uncertain: steps, soft ground, restricted turns, elevated placement or limited vehicle approach.
Make the load information usable
Supply the model and dimensions and the manufacturer dry-weight specification if available. Identify attachments and known damage. Say when the identity or support requirements are uncertain.
Ask the dealer for matching documentation rather than using another model's numbers.[3] The measurement guide helps prepare the record.
Describe what the equipment must cross
- Steps, thresholds and changes in level.
- Slopes and tight turns.
- Soft, loose or weather-sensitive surfaces.
- Narrow openings and overhead restrictions.
- Restricted loading or unloading positions.
- Barriers or shared-property permissions.
Photograph the whole route and the critical points. Put the measurements in the notes so an assessor can distinguish image perspective from real space.
Ask about support, control and protection
The provider should choose equipment appropriate to the model and conditions. Ask how the planned handling position is supported, how vulnerable surfaces are protected and when the plan would be paused for reassessment.
Do not specify an improvised ramp, ordinary trolley or convenient strap location. Padding and protection do not create load capacity.
Separate a lifting assessment from a structural one
Manufacturer delivery guidance recognizes that a crane can be needed for some sites.[1][12] The operator must assess the actual setup and obstructions.
Separately, the destination must support the filled spa and occupants. The Calm manual calls for structural advice before elevated installation.[12] Reaching a deck does not establish that the deck is suitable.
Assign the additional work
Identify who arranges any specialist lift, barrier work or temporary storage and how it is priced. Keep shutdown, electrical work and final commissioning clearly assigned.
Confirm permission and reinstatement for property alterations. Do not leave those decisions for the crew to make while waiting beside the spa.
Get the revised plan in writing
Ask which aspects have been assessed and which remain unresolved. Keep the written scope, contacts and condition record together.
