The journey between properties is only one stage of a spa relocation. It needs a carrier, an agreed package and a destination ready to accept the unit. Keep those arrangements connected to the pickup and installation plan.
Confirm who carries the spa
Get the carrier's contact and identify whether the spa stays with one handler or transfers during the journey. Ask who is responsible at pickup, transport and unloading.
For an interstate household-goods shipment, FMCSA's consumer guidance describes liability options and distinguishes them from moves within a state.[4] Ask which requirements and terms apply to the actual service rather than assuming every spa carrier uses the same contract.
Define the prepared unit
Give the model, dimensions, available dry weight and condition record to the relevant provider. Confirm agreed packing and the manufacturer-permitted support and orientation.
Record the cover, steps and accessories traveling separately. Use the accessory checklist before items are packed and the crating guide if a carrier requires a particular package.
Make pickup readiness explicit
Confirm shutdown and the agreed draining or model preparation before loading. Hardwired disconnection belongs with the appropriate electrician or spa service representative.[1]
Keep the route and vehicle position available and describe a material change before the tub is handled. Do not begin an improvised lift to get ahead of the schedule.
Plan the disconnected period
- Identify where the spa waits before the journey.
- Include any terminal transfer or storage stage.
- Confirm when the destination can receive it.
- Consider cold exposure or a possible delay.
- Keep the preparation record with the unit.
Shell draining can leave water in internal components.[2] Ask a spa technician about preparation for the actual waiting and exposure period.
Keep the destination ready and reachable
Give the carrier the unloading contact, access information and agreed finish location. Confirm that the foundation and orientation have been checked.
Manufacturer installation requirements include support for the operating load and access to equipment.[12] If the site is delayed, arrange revised storage and custody rather than leaving the tub's next stage uncertain.
Inspect at the handoff
Compare condition photographs, account for accessories and report a concern through the agreed process. Keep the shipping and preparation records for the first-fill checks.
The arrival guide and first-week record help after unloading. Describe the actual journey and any extra handoff in the moving request so transport is assessed as part of the whole relocation.
