MOVING GUIDES

What to ask a hot tub mover before agreeing a price

Confirm the important questions before accepting a spa moving price, from access assumptions and subcontractors to included work, changes and damage reporting.

A hot tub moving price is useful only when you know what work it describes. Before agreeing, check the access assumptions, handling stages and tasks that still belong to someone else.

What has the provider actually assessed?

Ask whether the price is based on the exact model and measurements, current route photographs, a site inspection or a brief description. Identify any unresolved dry weight, condition or access question.

Make sure both properties are included. A loading route that works at pickup does not establish that the spa can reach the new patio.

What does the price include?

  • Loading, the journey and the agreed final placement.
  • Any packing or separate accessory handling.
  • Draining and shutdown responsibilities.
  • Barrier work, storage or specialist lifting, if applicable.
  • The condition-record and arrival handoff process.

Have inclusions and exclusions written in ordinary terms. A phrase such as complete move can leave electrical connection, foundation preparation and startup ambiguous.

Who performs each part?

Get the contact for the party handling the tub, any separate carrier and any other specialist. Ask who books and pays for a lift, storage or authorized barrier work.

Hot Spring's moving guidance distinguishes the specialist work needed for hardwired disconnection.[1] Use the delivery-versus-installation checklist so that work has a responsible person before pickup.

What happens if the conditions change?

Ask how a narrower opening, blocked vehicle position, unfinished pad or different finish location would be handled. Identify what is fixed, estimated or still awaiting assessment and how an extra visit or delay would be priced.

Read the actual payment, cancellation and rescheduling terms. Do not assume an industry-standard policy applies to this provider.

What protection and reporting terms apply?

Ask for the written explanation of damage responsibility, exclusions, limits and the claim contact. Keep any separate storage or contractor terms with it.

FMCSA describes federal valuation options for interstate household-goods moves and notes that moves within a state may have different rules.[4] Use the explanation relevant to the actual service rather than assuming that a general insured-company statement settles the question.

Is the destination ready for what is being promised?

Confirm the foundation, equipment-panel access, final orientation and electrical arrangements. Manufacturer instructions include support for the operating spa and occupants, not simply a spot where the empty tub can be unloaded.[12]

The quote-exclusions guide helps organize items outside the price. Use the cost comparison to put totals in context, then supply the moving details so the remaining questions can be resolved before agreement.
