MOVING GUIDES

3 checks to finish before a spa move

Finish three important spa move checks before pickup: the actual unit, the complete access routes and the responsibilities that make the destination ready.

Three checks can organize the information a spa mover needs without pretending that a short list teaches you how to lift the tub. Finish them while the spa remains safely in place.

1. Confirm the spa and its condition

Identify the model and year where possible, record dimensions and find the manufacturer dry-weight specification. Photograph the shell, cabinet, cover and accessible base, and report known damage or leaks.

Keep the correct manual with the record. If it cannot be identified, ask the dealer rather than choosing a similar-looking product's instructions.[3]

List attached and separate accessories so the provider sees the complete handling object. The measurement guide and removable-parts guide help with those details.

2. Survey the whole route at both properties

Start where the vehicle can stop and follow the path to the spa or new pad. Measure clear openings, turning space and overhead restrictions. Record steps, slopes, surfaces and permissions.

Include equipment clearance. Hot Spring's moving guidance points out that dolly height affects overhead access.[1] A gate measurement alone does not establish a workable route.

Have photographs showing the critical points from both directions. Use the route-mapping guide when several constraints occur together. Do not remove a fixed barrier or tip the tub as a trial without an assessed plan.

3. Confirm preparation and destination responsibilities

Assign draining, water disposal, hardwired disconnection and any model-specific cold-weather preparation. An appropriate electrician or spa service representative handles the hardwired work.[1]

Confirm the foundation, equipment-side access, final orientation and the person handling electrical connection and startup at the new site. Manufacturer guidance includes support for the filled spa and occupants, not only a place for the empty tub.[12]

If the destination is delayed, identify storage, custody and the effect of an extended disconnected period. An empty shell may still contain water internally.[2]

Use the checks to improve the scope

Tell the provider which points are confirmed and which still need assessment. Compare the included work, outstanding trades and reporting terms before agreeing a final price.

The full moving checklist expands these checks into the stages before pickup, at arrival and during restart. Put the actual dimensions and access concerns in your moving inquiry rather than describing the job as simple or difficult without details.
