Moving day is for confirming the assessed plan and recording the handoff. Most decisions about equipment, permissions, preparation and site readiness should already be settled.
Keep this short list with the manual, condition photos and contact details. Use the full preparation checklist for the work that happens earlier.
Before the handler arrives
- Confirm the agreed shutdown and preparation are complete.
- Make the gate keys and loading position available.
- Move ordinary loose obstacles out of the route.
- Keep children, pets and bystanders out of the work area.
- Have the model information and written scope ready.
- Contact the destination representative to confirm readiness.
If the route, weather, spa condition or finish location has changed, tell the provider before work begins. Do not wait until the load is moving.
At pickup
Point out existing damage and the critical access details. Keep the earlier condition photographs and take any additional record needed before protection hides the surfaces.
Confirm the cover, steps and agreed removable accessories traveling separately. Labeling and packing should already have been agreed; see the accessory record if that list is incomplete.
Do not join an unplanned lift or provide an improvised ramp. Hot Spring warns against trying to move the spa yourself.[1] Let the assessed handler control the method and work area.
During the journey or custody transfer
Keep the carrier and destination contacts available. If the spa passes into storage or to another handler, retain the agreed transfer information and condition record.
Ask the named provider contact about a delay that affects the destination or disconnected period. Cold exposure or extended storage may alter preparation needs.[2]
At arrival
- Compare accessible condition with the pickup record.
- Confirm the agreed position and equipment-door side.
- Check the cover and separately transported items.
- Record a concern through the agreed reporting process.
- Keep inspection points accessible before surrounding work begins.

Before the first use
Confirm the appropriate electrical work and model-specific filling and startup sequence. Placement alone does not finish commissioning. Do not energize an empty spa or keep running a pump that fails its prescribed priming procedure.[12]
Keep a first-week record of the first fill and normal operating observations. If a concern appears, describe when it started and who to contact rather than guessing its cause.
